Terms of Use

The terms on which this site is made available.

Using the site

Citywide is published for informational use. By using it you accept these terms and the disclaimer, which forms part of them.

Permitted use

Read it, print it, quote it. You may quote a reasonable extract with attribution to Citywide Legal Guide and a link to the guide. You may not republish whole guides, mirror the site, or present its material as your own or another publication's.

Automated bulk copying — scraping the site to build a competing library or a corpus for resale — is not permitted under these terms.

Intellectual property

Guide text, the Citywide name and mark, the design system and the illustrations are ours. Statutes, regulations, ordinances and decisions described or cited are not — they are public law, and each guide points to the official version.

No advice, no relationship

Nothing here is legal advice and using the site creates no attorney–client relationship, as set out in the disclaimer.

Accuracy and availability

We work hard to be accurate and correct errors when we find them, but we do not warrant that every statement is complete, current, or applicable where you live — see the note about local rules in the disclaimer. The site is provided as is and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Citywide Legal Guide is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its content.

Governing law

We do not name a governing jurisdiction, because doing so would assert something about where this publication operates that we are not in a position to assert. Mandatory consumer-protection rules where you live are unaffected by these terms.

Changes

These terms may be revised. Continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting the revised terms.
